>Dating the Atlanteans< (Atlantis), Plato offers an age of 9.000 years.            (Quoting from Critias 108 e:) >...that nine thousand was the sum of years which had elapsed since the war between those who dwelt outside and within.<  (Quoting from Timaeus 23 e:) >As touching your citizens of nine thousand years ago, I will briefly inform you of their laws and of their most famous action...<

Since to the present day, generations of Atlantis Experts draw the wrong conclusions,  …ageing Atlantis at round about 11,500 years. Obviously, to achieve this result, they counted Plato’s 9,000 years plus the 2,500 years that have elapsed since then.                                                                                                      What is overlooked here that, after all these calculations, one lands doubtless in the Stone Age or alternatively in the last (Würm/Wisconsin) Ice Age. …when huge herds of reindeer (caribou), mammoths and, sporadically, also the last woolly rhinoceroses grazed on the sparse vegetation of the former tundra outside of the present city of Hamburg/Germany.

About the origin of the topic Atlantis, Plato relied even several times on Solon’s >Egypt diary< that he created in the years 570 to 560 BC. Solon intended to reprocess the Saïtic priest’s message in an EPOS TO ATHENS. Therefore, the term Atlantis Report is quite simply wrong. Solon passed away just after he had returned from Egypt. Hence, his EPOS TO ATHENS remained unwritten.

With Solon’s >Egypt Diary< we can expect that its transfer of figures is based on Egyptian numerical units so that the the New Kingdom's dating (1550 - 1070 BC) was based on years (à 365 ¼ days), as well as on lunar cycles (à 28 days).          The utopian dating of Atlantis (of 11,500 years) has its origin in the fact that the proverbial >nuts and pears< were simply added up, adding >current years< and Plato's >years<. - Crux of the matter is their incompatibility: months and years have different values.

Plato, in a single place only, talks about >8,000 years ago<, that received less attention than these more sensational >9,000 years<: (Timaeus 23 e; Saïtic priest to Solon:) >…of which the constitution is recorded in our sacred registers to be eight thousand years old<. As Solon’s stay in Egypt from 570 to 560 BC is historically proved, the year 560 BC is an appropriate calculation point; declared as a farewell gift from the Saïtic priest to Solon. The result of this account is surprising. It appears that Solon was not talking about 8.000 earth years corresponding to 365 ¼ days, but to lunar orbits of 28 days:

Solon’s stay in Egypt from 570 to 560 BC is proved historically. That’s why the year 560 BC is an appropriate calculation basis, declared as a farewell gift from the Saïtic priest to Solon.                                                                                    Because of one earth year is corresponding to 365 ¼ days, and one lunar orbit to 28 days, the >Atlantis formulary< is, Solon’s >years< (not Plato’s years) divided by 13:

                                        8.000 : 13 = 615 + 560 =  1,175 BC

This calculation states that, in the year 560 BC, when Solon shared together with the Saïtic priest the consecrated writings, …since the year 1,175 BC  ...had elapsed 615 years. The astounding thing is that, …with the year 1.175 BC this account hits the >regnal year 8 of Ramses III<. With that, >Solon’s 8,000 years< and the >regnal year 8 of Ramses III< are synchronisms of the year 1,175 BC. Herewith, the Atlanteans enter the written history in the year 1,175 BC:

On panoramas big as tennis courts,  Ramses III  is  celebrating the terminus  >year 8< of his regency as the main theme for the whole Amun temple in former Thebes-West; today’s Medinet Habu: (Medinet Habu-plate 46, 1 – 5:)                      >Year 8 under the majesty of the Horus: Mighty bull, strong lion, mighty of arm, possessor of a strong arm, taking captive the Asiatics; favourite of the two goddesses; rich in strength like his father Montu, destroying the NineBows, driven from their land; Horus of Gold; divine when he issued from the womb, ... son of Re: Ramses III<.                                                                          The >NineBows< denotes the peoples from the Ninth Bow, …the North- and the Baltic-Seas areas, (two inland seas of the Atlantic Ocean), who immigrated and settled in Lower Egypt and then being persecuted by Ramses III.
